Жіночі благодійні товариства в Україні (друга половина ХІХ – початок ХХ ст.)

Abstract

Упродовж століть громадські благодійні організації відігравали важливу роль для українського суспільства. Особлива роль в підтримці населення належала жінкам. Історія знає чимало прикладів благодійної діяльності жінок і засвідчує їх вагому роль у заснуванні монастирів, лікарень, шкіл, притулків тощо. Об’єктом дослідження є жіночі благодійні товариства в Україні у другій половині ХІХ – на початку ХХ ст. Предметом дослідження є участь жінок у справі становлення та розвитку державних опікунських установ і громадських благодійних організацій в Україні у другій половині ХІХ – на початку ХХ ст. Мета роботи полягає в реконструкції на основі джерельного масиву і переосмислення робіт попередників значення жіночого фактору в становленні державного піклування та громадської благодійності на українських землях в другій половині XIX – на початку ХХ ст. і розглядається в таких основних завданнях: – вивчити стан наукового вивчення проблеми та дослідити ступінь репрезентативності та інформативності виявлених джерел; – проаналізувати діяльність жіночих благодійних товариств Західної України та Наддніпрянщини; – висвітлити діяльність жіночих доброчинних товариств, гуртків релігійного спрямування, державних та приватних благодійних організацій; – зʼясувати значення соціальної активності відомих українських діячок для розвитку благодійного руху в Україні; – довести важливе значення жіночого фактору в становленні благодійності на українських землях. Створення та діяльність жіночих громадських товариств є важливою сторінкою в історії розвитку української благодійності. Жіночий благодійний рух в Україні у другій половині ХІХ – на початку ХХ ст., попри певну специфіку, повʼязану з політичним розвитком Російської та Австро-Угорської імперій, мав на меті дбати про освіту і громадське життя українського жіноцтва. Діяльність жіноцтва у цих товариствах не була безпосередньо повʼязана зі специфічно феміністичними завданнями, однак обʼєктивно сприяла новому психологічному сприйняттю жінки у суспільстві.

Over the centuries, public charitable organizations have played an important role in Ukrainian society. Women had a special role in supporting the population. History knows many examples of women's charitable activities and attests to their important role in founding monasteries, hospitals, schools, shelters, etc. The object of the research is women's charitable societies in Ukraine in the second half of the 19th - at the beginning of the 20th century. The subject of the study is the fate of women at the beginning of the twentieth century and the development of state guardianship institutions and large benevolent organizations in Ukraine in the other half of the 19th century. The aim of the work is to reconstruct, on the basis of the source material and rethinking the works of predecessors, the importance of the female factor in the formation of state care and public charity in the Ukrainian lands in the second half of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and is considered in the following main tasks:  to study the state of scientific development of the problem and to investigate the degree of representativeness and informativeness of the identified sources;  to analyze the activities of women's charitable partnerships of Western Ukraine and the Naddniprianshchyna;  visvitlity of the activity of women's virtuous comrades, groups of religious directing, sovereign and private charitable organizations;  to find out the significance of social activity of famous Ukrainian figures for the development of the charity movement in Ukraine;  to bring an important value to the female factor in the development of prosperity in Ukrainian lands. The creation and activity of women's public associations is an important page in the history of the development of Ukrainian philanthropy. The women's charitable movement in Ukraine in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries, despite certain specifics related to the political development of the Russian and Austro-Hungarian empires, aimed to take care of the education and public life of Ukrainian women. The activities of women in these societies were not directly related to specifically feminist tasks, but objectively contributed to a new psychological perception of women in society.
