Abstract

Кваліфікаційна робота присвячена дослідженню явища джеррімандерінгу, його впливу на демократичні принципи. Робота зосереджена на дослідженні різноманітних методів, інструментів та стратегій, що використовуються для здійснення джеррімандерінгу, а також на аналізі його довгострокових наслідків для політичної стабільності, репрезентативності та довіри громадян до виборчого процесу. Дослідження охоплює кейси з США та Великобританії, де джеррімандерінг є історичною та актуальною проблемою. Шляхом огляду законодавчих рамок, судових рішень, та практичних кейсів перекроювання округів у цих країнах, робота виявляє спільні закономірності та унікальні особливості прояву джеррімандерінгу в різних правових та політичних контекстах. Особлива увага приділена розгляду методів протидії, цьому явищу включаючи незалежні комісії з перерозподілу округів. Результати дослідження сприятимуть глибшому розумінню механізмів джеррімандерінгу, та запропонують потенційні шляхи для покращення чесності і справедливості виборчих систем, у демократичних державах. The qualification paper consists of an introduction, 3 chapters comprising 9 subsections, conclusions, a bibliography, and appendices. The total length of the paper is 52 pages, with a bibliography containing 58 sources. This qualification paper is dedicated to the study of the phenomenon of gerrymandering and its impact on democratic principles. The work focuses on exploring various methods, tools, and strategies used to implement gerrymandering, as well as analyzing its long-term consequences for political stability, representation, and public trust in the electoral process. The research covers case studies from the United States and the United Kingdom, where gerrymandering is both a historical and ongoing issue.
