Abstract: The paper is devoted to the corpus-linguistic approach in learning English grammar. The research aim is the theoretical substantiation of the knowledge levels of the English language and the practical development of a grammar test, taking into account the frequency of multi-level grammatical structures. According to the aim, the tasks of the current master research are the following: to consider the methodology of corpus linguistics in learning English as a foreign language, describe the main approaches to the development of English language grammar, concept of “corpus”, and its main functions, develop a test to determine the knowledge level of English language grammar. Scientific novelty is to show the frequency of using of English grammatical structures in English-language corpora and the development of a multi-level grammar test to determine the level of English proficiency using Sketch Engine concordance. According to the results of practical research, it was found that corpus linguistics is a science that a main goal is to create linguistic corpora equipped with specific parameters. The corpus is a large volume of texts, which is stored in electronic form and makes it possible to use specific parameters to find the necessary data. According to Common European Framework of Reference for Language three levels of knowledge A1 (Beginner), B1 (Intermediate) and C1 (Advanced) were identified. It was found that each grammatical level of knowledge has mandatory grammatical structures for learning. It should be noted that the frequency of using grammatical topics was depicted at each grammatical level of knowledge. The most frequent structures belong to the simplest level of knowledge. A grammar test to determine student knowledge was based on the frequency results.
