Формування англомовних навичок аудіювання у процесі мобільного навчання у студентів ІІ курсу філологічних спеціальностей

Abstract

Робота присвячена питанням використання технологій мобільного навчання як засобу формування англомовних навичок аудіювання у студентів філологічних спеціальностей. Предметом дослідження є процес формування навичок аудіювання під час мобільного навчання на заняттях з англійської мови студентами 2 курсу філологічних спеціальностей. У дослідженні теоретично обґрунтовано використання технологій мобільного навчання й розроблено комплекс вправ з тем «On the Move» та «Choosing a Career» для забезпечення ефективного процесу формування аудитивних навичок студентів 2 курсу філологічних спеціальностей. Для отримання даних щодо можливості використання мобільного навчання студентами філологічних спеціальностей у рамках нашого дослідження було здійснено аналіз сайтів та мобільних застосунків для вивчення англійської мови на предмет їх відповідності формуванню навичок аудіювання студентів філологічних спеціальностей. Отримані результати свідчать, що деякі сайти / застосунки (Aword, Quizlet, Lingualeo) не підходять для використання студентам філологічних спеціальностей, адже містять фрагментарний контент, не пов’язаний в єдину систему, а також рівень володіння мовою А2-В1, що на відповідає вимогам до цієї спеціальності. Разом з тим матеріали сайтів / застосунків TED Talks, 6-Minute English, Ello, Learn English, Listen in English та Linguahouse відповідають вимогам системності, актуальності аудіо матеріалу та його складності (В2-С1). Розроблено комплекс вправ з розвитку англомовних аудитивних навичок засобами мобільного навчання для студентів 2 курсів філологічних спеціальностей. Автентичні тексти було відібрано з зазначених сайтів. Відео та аудіо тексти було розміщено на YouTube каналі, а посилання на них додано до Google Forms. До текстів було розроблено комплекс вправ та подано студентам в форматі Google Forms для опрацювання. Вправи поділено на дотекстові, текстові та післятекстові. Апробація розробленого комплексу вправ для дослідження ефективності застосування технології мобільного навчання для розвитку аудитивних навичок показала, що середній бал по контрольній підгрупі «А» підвищився на 11,67%, а по підгрупі «Б» – 2,92%. Це свідчить про високу ефективність використання технологій мобільного навчання, ґрунтовність роботи з лексичним матеріалом та закріплення фонетичних навичок у студентів. За результатами нашого дослідження було обґрунтовано доцільність застосування технології мобільного навчання для формування англомовних навичок аудіювання, що вказує на необхідність впровадження мобільних пристроїв у процес навчання у закладах вищої освіти України як ефективного способу динамізації та підвищення якості освітнього процесу. The thesis is dedicated to the challenge of using mobile learning technologies as a means of forming English listening skills of the 2nd year students of philological specialties. The subject of the study is the process of listening skills formation the students of philology majors during mobile learning in English classes. The thesis theoretically substantiates the effectiveness of using mobile learning and develops a set of exercises on the topics "On the Move" and "Choosing a Career" for ensuring an effective process of forming the listening skills of the 2nd year students of philology majors. In order to obtain data on the possibility of using mobile learning by students of philology majors, within the framework of our study, an analysis of sites and mobile applications for learning English was carried out for the purpose of their relevance to the formation of listening skills. The obtained results indicate that some sites / applications (Aword, Quizlet, Lingualeo) are not suitable for use by students of philology majors, because they contain fragmentary content that is not connected into a single system, as well as the level of language proficiency A2-B1, which does not meet the requirements to this specialty. At the same time, the materials of the sites / applications TED Talks, 6-Minute English, Ello, Learn English, Listen in English and Linguahouse meet the requirements of systematicity, relevance of audio material and its complexity (B2-C1). A set of exercises for the development of English listening skills using mobile learning tools was developed for 2nd year students of philology majors. Authentic texts were selected from the mentioned sites for learning English. Video and audio texts were posted on the YouTube channel, and links to them were added to Google Forms. A set of exercises was developed for the texts and presented to students in Google Forms for processing. Exercises are divided into pre-text, text and post-text exercises. Approbation of the developed set of exercises for researching the effectiveness of using mobile learning technology for the development of listening skills showed that the average score for the control subgroup "A" increased by 11.67%, and for the subgroup "B" – by 2.92%. This testifies to the high efficiency of using mobile learning technologies, the thoroughness of work with lexical material and consolidation of students' phonetic skills. According to the results of our study, the feasibility of using mobile learning technology for the formation of English listening skills was substantiated, which indicates the need to introduce mobile devices into the learning process in higher education institutions of Ukraine as an effective way to dynamize and improve the quality of the educational process.
